Own a 1987 29ft Sovereign that is on it's third set of tires in 8 yrs. Pulled by 2000 F250 Superduty crewcab gas V10. WBICC# 9010. Have question regarding replacing AC. Unit came with Colman and have been told drip pan will need to be replaced but Airstream has switched to Dometic and no longer makes Colman pan. Question is does anyone have experience with removing AC unit and is it likely drip pan will be damaged? Also how good are Dometic AC units?
Many Thanks for any help.

Im sorry Im not going to be able to help You. I own a 1974 31' Sovereign and the A/C works great. However i will also pay attention to this thread. Down the road Im positive that I will need to replace mine as well. But either way welcome to the forum Airstream87!

Looks like it was quite a project! Its a good thing the other member from the thread didnt cause any serious back injury. I eagerly await the daunting task when my unit fails... Fun fun fun

Hope that's cause you've been on the road and worn them out! Cool, I'm jealous ~

You can buy the drain pan for the new ac from Airstream via a dealer such as Andy. I was told that this is the only way you can get one. Camping world installed a second one for me but I had to provide the drain pan.
