Question new member

I have just found this forum. I'm redoing a 1962 Safari & from time to time have some questions.
Actually, I have one now.
Outside, street side is a small compartment where power cord is stored. One of the latches for the panel is missing. Need to find another or a similsr type that will work. The latch looks like the old clasp type used years ago on metal suitcases. Has a place for lock.
Anyway, would appreciate any help I can find.
I said I am redoing the Safari. Since parts are so difficult to find, and with a lack of tech pubs for that year, I am updating where necessary. Have had the rig for about a year now and am about to finish the interior. Lot of exterior work to be done yet, and although retired find myself short of time. Other projects, new grandbabies, etc, etc.
Thanks
JD
One more Is there a place to post photos?

Welcome to the Forums, JD. I'm sure some of the vintage folks can help with where to find parts or how to improvise. We would love to see some pictures of the old guy.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forums!

Your trailer sounds great! We love to see pics... so here is a very quick posting direction!

Scroll down when you want to post, and choose the "advanced" button rather than quick reply. Once you get a new window you will see a title and a message box. Fill in what you want to say, etc. Then scroll down to the next section that says "additional options" click on manage attachments. This is where you can upload pictures... Sometimes it won't upload more than 2 at a time... not sure why... if your file sizes are too large it will tell you. Give it a try, we want to see pictures!

We have a 1963 Bambi, and although the size is different from your Safari, many of the appliances, construction, etc. will be similar. I am posting a link to my husband's thread that he wrote when he did our shell off restoration. He has lots of pictures, explanations, etc. It is a lot of pages, but you can run through them and see if there are things you may find useful.

Good luck!
