hello! were a family of four in the central valley of california. with retirement in the not so distant future i started looking at trailers and of course airstream could be the only one even though i have not been one. could it be the cool exterior? any way i spend many a night dreaming about a road trip. canoe/kayak on top of truck(which we already own) and bikes in back.my husband and i like to stay active and see the sights that the good old usa has to offer.looking forward to learning before i buy. dieter

dieter---there are a lot of good Rv's and trailers out there. in many cases you can buy 2-3 for what you pay for an Airstream. That said I would be cautious about checking them out. Once hooked, and it comes easy, nothing else will satisfy---pieman

Hello,

Welcome to the forums!

I was born in central Calif. San Joaquin valley... we are retired, best thing to ever happen! Live in the Northland now.... don't miss the valley heat or valley fog....

I would definitely say, just go for an Airstream! I would look at all of them you can get to... check out the rally schedule (one coming up in Oct at Lake San Antonio near Paso Robles) and see if you can drop by. You will get a chance to see some of the trailers and talk to the owners and find out what they like and don't like!

There is a good thread on "considerations for buying an airstream" ~ you should review. Lots of good ideas and thoughts. Mostly about newer 'streams, but many of the ideas apply to vintage as well.

Find your trailer and get out camping! It is great!

There is also an Airstream dealer on the southern border of Paso Robles next to the freeway.
