Hello,

I am VERY new to this community. My husband and I are just starting this journey. We live in Central Florida where we have are awaiting our brand new 16' Bambi. The build is scheduled to begin in mid to late October.

When not preparing for the arrival of our new addition by scouring the web, forums, and social media for ideas we have many things we enjoy doing. My husband works in the automotive field, and I have a position in the lumber industry. When not at our day jobs, we spend time volunteering in the world of animal welfare. We enjoy unwinding by sitting on our back porch, working on projects around our home, or hanging out with our cats and friends.

We are looking forward to this new chapter in our lives. We have done many a road trip and had a roof top tent. I suspect this is going to be much different than anything we have experienced before. I look forward to learning from all of you and getting your insight on things. We don't believe in going into things blind, so we have been doing lots of research in preparation for this. Thank you all for your time, we are excited for the maiden voyage, and many more trips to come!

Welcome! Did you order your Bambi from RVOne off of I-4? We bought our trailer there and had a great experience with the sale and checkout. Haven't had any service work done there (haven't needed any, fortunately). You're going to have many excellent adventures ahead of you. Our favorite part of switching from tent camping to Airstreaming was how much quicker set up and tear down was. 10 minutes from campsite arrival to cocktails, max! My advice would be don't go too crazy buying things for the trailer until you've spent some time in it. We found we surprisingly like to keep things simple. I've actually taken out more items than I've added in. And I feel like I need to do another purge since we've had it for almost two years now.

Welcome to the neighborhood. I feel your excitement. There are a lot of Streamers in Florida that you’ll meet. Have fun and keep us posted.

Welcome!

I am also new, just took delivery of a 16 ft Caravel a couple of weeks ago. Ours was pretty close to the promised schedule, the factory build was on time, but deliver and dealer set up took a few weeks longer than we expected. Hope yours is on time.

I lived most of my life in Florida, but have moved west!

We did go through RVOne, and so far it's been great!

We don't have plans to add too many things. It's mostly just the modifications we are researching, like the countertop, mattress toppers, bedding, and optimizing storage space. We will be traveling with one of our cats so we are working hard to make sure it works for all 3 of us. We can't wait!

So glad to hear you've had a good experience with the dealership, but also that you've not needed any maintenance yet. Thanks for all the input! :-D

We spend the winters near Mt. Dora and have used RV One for service at times. The experience was good.

There are a lot of "streamers" in FL and many good local units of the AS Club. You might want to check into joining. Lot's of fun with the FL AS folks!

We also had a good experience with the Tampa RV One.
I agree with keeping things simple, at least until you have used it for a few trips. However, since you live in Florida, allow for the possibility it will become an escape pod after a hurricane. That suggests a portable solar panel or generator (propane has advantages) and a bucket dedicated to extending the tank capacity. (Many waste totes won’t fit under your dump valve.)
Your rig offers the advantage of fitting anywhere, which will be to your advantage when trying to reserve a site in Florida.
Happy camping!

Welcome from high and dry Colorado: There are so many beautiful places to visit in this beautiful country of ours. Plan on taking back roads to get to your destination. Much more enjoyable that way.

Here we are camping in our oldie but goodie Airstream. It is a 1986 and has been in the family since new. Airstreams last a very long time.

A while back I posted about local AS service centers near me in Orlando. RV One is basically right around the block. I did not get a lot of responses to the post, but I did see mentions of "RV One Horror Stories". Eventually I'll need work done that I can't do myself. Seems you had a good experience with RV One in Orlando. I don't know how long ago you've been there, but they have moved from Winter Park to an old car dealership in Casselberry and and now have greatly expanded service facilities. I bought my Jayco there last September and the experience was fine. I'd hesitate to say exceptional since I really did not need much in terms of information on how to use my trailer. It was more of a "give me the keys so I can hit the road" type sell off. Sounds to me like they are worth giving a shot due to how close they are. I was thinking I might have to drive to Tampa or something.
