new member - 1986 Excella

Hi,
My wife had for a long time thought that Airstreams were extremely cool and had kicked around the idea of owning one. When she purchased her last vehicle one of the criteria was that it be capable of towing a Bambi. Well, 16 months ago she found a good deal on an '86 Excella. It was in good shape and could have been usable after a good cleaning. So we then embarked an interior remodeling to transform it from the " The 70's Show basement/ cheesy bordello look, into more of a vintage private railcar look. This has been successful and we are pleased with it . Now I am trying to sort out the whole tow vehicle, 9-pin to 7-pin , electric brake, previous owner mystery modifications, with the help of the extremely thorough, in-depth owners manual (sarcasm). My current vehicle is a '90 ford f-150 that can pull it around here( Florida, flat), but my wife wants to take it an Airstream only park in N. Georgia. I have nightmares of attempting to ascend a grade, applying full power, as we merrily roll backwards. If i don't get it there soon there are serious repecussions for me, (No sarcasm ).

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Pulling a 34 to the Georgia mountains with a 150 may be a really tough piull.

We're up in Walton County. We're so far out in the Panhandle that we are in the Central Time Zone. I am originally from Dade County, though.
