New In Oklahoma

Hello My wife and I are currently looking at a 31' 1983 Excella. It will need a little work but we are looking forward to the task. She will retire in around a year from now and I am already on a more leisure schedule because We also on a business. This affords us time to travel some now. We are both excited about seeing the states and spending time just traveling around. We have owned a 28' Shasta at one time and really did enjoy going year round. We have many questions and will need to figure out how to use this site better.

Welcome Okiegent!

The Air forums is a great place to learn all things Airstream! The search function often gives more information that one might like... but if you have specific questions, just post away and many of the good folks here will respond!

You might take a look at this link on price vs. condition for Airstreams. It doesn't go up to 1983, but reading through the information might give you food for thought. Price vs. Condition - Airstream Values

You could also look through the members list and find others with a 1983 Excella and post a question to them if you have specifics.

A great way to learn more about Airstreams is to attend a rally near you. (It is winter and might not be a lot going on, but many times you will find Airstreamers out camping when others stay home! A rally can provide you with lots of insight. You can meet other Airstreamers, see their trailers and "talk trailer" all day long...

This is a great group and there are even folks who will do inspections of potential purchases for you (many for free, or just for gas to get there). So, ask away....

Welcome to the forums! I might add, retirement is the best thing we ever did!

Welcome Okiegent!

Welcome Okiegent!

You'll find some nice folks on AirForums from your area. Where is the Airstream that you're considering located? Perhaps someone would be willing to look at it with you and give you their thoughts about its condition and potential.

It may also be helpful to watch the rally calendar for AirForums rallies near you and attend one or more. You don't have to own an Airstream to attend. In fact, folks who are still searching for an Airstream often attend the rallies and stay in nearby hotels or cabins.

We look forward to meeting you somewhere down the road,

Nancy Mac
