New In Illinois

Hello all, and thanks for this great site. We are new to the AS community as of last friday! The wife and I have been looking for a vintage AS for a couple years and we finally found one. I was in MO just outside of St.louis, about a 4 hr drive for us. Its an International, 27', in pretty good shape on outside, and the previous owners were starting to gut her and turn it into a taco stand or some sucha thing, luckly we swooped in and saver her..lol. Buying it was the easy part now the work begins. I think we are going to replace most everything as as far as the electical, plumbing and such, but since we just got 4 inches of snow and its cold as heck we will have to wait til the weather breaks to get started. We are just kinds feeling our way around and this site seems to be a great place for information...I own and run a small handyman business for 20 years now with a full woodworking shop so we have the tools...now to just find the know how!. thanks Kurt and Vickie

Welcome, and you are just up the road.

When you get your sea legs, or even if you don't, you are welcome to join us the weekend of June 9 at Moraine View State Park near Leroy, where a long established group of Airstreamers will be gathering.

Come for the weekend, or drive in on Saturday for the day, when there is an afternoon Open House and an evening potluck.

Maggie
