Welcome!

Best wishes in your search . . .

We're in Central Illinois. If you find a 60's or 70's near us that you are considering, maccamper would likely be willing to go with you to check it out.

Craigslist is a good spot to start looking. Here is a link to a Craigslist searcher I use. SearchTempest Online Classifieds Search - All the Classifieds. One Search.

You might find one here on the Forum classifieds, but you can specify how far you are willing to travel from your area code on this searcher. I know of a couple available now in Northern Illinois.

I actually use that! Lol. Only problem is, prolly 3/4 of the airstreams on there are either expired or flagged for removal lol.

Im feelin pretty confident on one im watchin on eBay. The guy put TONS of pictures on there so you know exactly what your gettin without actually bein there. Heres the link: 1977 Airstream Towable Camper 23' Sleeps 4 in RVs & Campers | eBay Motors

NO ONE BID ON IT lol. The only 2 things I see wrong with it are pretty obvious: the crumpled up drivers-side bottom where he ran over somethin and the clearcoat is peeling. I have a feeling I could figure out how to shine this bad boy up thanks to these forums lol. Its not as long as I wanted (23') but itll do just fine!

Re-Introduce Myself

Hello guys! Iv been a member of this forum for about a week now. Id like to reintroduce myself as JP from southern Illinois.. owner of a 1981 Airstream Excella II! Thats right! I took the plunge and bought a nicely redone Excella. The interiors all new but the bathroom needs finished. No biggie! Easy stuff. Hope to learn a lot about my new buy!

Welcome to the forums and Airstream owners. I have an '80 Excella and absolutely love it. I am from central Illinois but have been a resident of southern Illinois many years ago. Know where you are. Home of the white squirrel right?
To give you an update, I have replaced the water tank, water heater, furnace, axles, and door hinges on my unit. This winter I plan to drop the belly pans and sand blast and paint the frame. If time allows between duck and goose season and spring I might find time to polish. Still debating that though. If I can help with any information on your unit, don't hesitate to contact me.
