Thumbs up New from Ventura, CA

We don't have a trailer yet. We are starting here. We'd like a 30 footer, or between 25' & 30'. One drawback is I have a Dodge Dakota. Might have to get a larger P.U.
The motive is a little vagabondage at retirement or wandering while still in the workforce. There are many futures possible.
Greetings to the stressed skin aluminium housing set!

Welcome to the Forums. You'll find a lot of Airstream info here.

The Dodge Dakota is probablyn not up to towing a mdern 25 footer.

I have an '05 25'SS and pull it with a 3/4 ton pickup truck. No way would I attempt to tow it with a Dakota. I think you need to consider upgrading your tow vehicle to something with more beef.

Welcome from another Californian.

I tow a 25' safari with a dodge diesel 3/4 ton without problem. Could I have gotten away with a smaller TV? Probably, for instance a gas, but there is a margin of security with this truck that I appreciate. I only wish I had gotten 4WD as a couple of times I've felt uncomfortable on loose sand and gravel in campgrounds, no less.

Welcome in!

Glad you got here. We've been waiting for you.

I wish you the best in finding your dream trailer. Lots of forum camping you should get in on. I gotta say if you can get to Casini in a tent if you have to. You will see a ton of A/s's to help you make up your mind and meet some fun people. As a side note you'll also have a great time.

Trucks, Get more truck than you need and you'll never come up short. You may want to hold up on the truck until you get the trailer so you have the right truck for the job.

Brevity...?

Kev -

Noticed that you are starting to tend toward the 'run-on' sentances... and posts....

Is your 'brevity' meter not calibrated?
