New from Minnesota

Hi all. I recently found this forums page and had to join. I bought my first Airstream ('59 18' footer) about 12 years ago to live in while I built my first house. Bought a second one ('68 30' very original) a couple years ago to live in while building the second house. Both are nice and livable, neither are spectacular. I'm hoping the information here will help me bring out their shine inside and out! I most definately have aluminum fever!

excellent cool name!

so, do you have two or one, now? I heard you were having snow flurries today, which tells me that you must have been living in yours through some pretty cold weather. I've managed to be comfortable when the outside is above 20 degrees, and survive down to zero, but it's not much fun below 15 or so. It's easy most days in Colorado and the high mountain west because even when it's cold at night, it gets above freezing for a good part of the day.

any interest in selling the 18'?

Zep

I still have both and have no intention of selling either. Yes my wife and I have lived in them in cold snowy weather. We've used the 18 footer occasionally to stay in while visiting relatives for holidays. One Christmas we stayed in it and the temp dropped to -11F. It took 2 1500W heaters and a couple heavy blankets to stay comfortable.

Welcome TM. Duluth is a great area. Camped there a number of times and trips to Spirit Mountain when the kids were small. We transplanted from MN about 8 yrs ago. Great places to camp in both Mn & Wi. We haven't hit em all yet. A great group here in the forum.

Welcome to the forums.
At least with two trailers, when you are "in the doghouse", it's the other Airstream.
I'm glad you found the forums and signed up. If you haven't already, you will see that this is a super site for everything Airstream.
