new from michigan
My wife and I just picked up our 25' o7 International. So far so good! We went out in it twice and we havent hit anything. Next thing is to learn what to put in it and a gps, no more quick turns. Being in the kitchen business we already have ideas about how to trick it out. Maybe solid suface countertops, etc. Glad I found this web site so when we get questions we have somewhere to go.

Hey Michiganians, welcome and congratulations on your new Airstream! Lots of Airstreamers in the area. Hope to see you down the road some time soon. Watch the Metro Detroit threads for rallies. There are two coming up shortly in October. And Cathy this summer the Rivettes, women who tow, many from Michigan, met and rallied on. We would love to see you at our next get-together too.

Hi Dean and Cathy!
I have to apologize for Carol's (Wheel Interested) oversight of what people from Michigan are called. As we all know it is "Michiganders".
Carol is a "transplant".
Welcome to the haunted world of aluminum. My family has been camping in Airstreams and Argosys since before I was born. I have a ton of fond memories of camping and working on Airstreams with my dad and brothers. We all share the Airstream lifestyle still, to this day. My dad would be proud of us all.
Also, like Carol said, we have a little group of fellow Airstreamers that meet about twice a year. We have a rally coming up the first weekend in October at a private campground just west of Flint. Me and my family will be showing up Thursday afternoon and leaving late Sunday.
Come and join us if you can. It is always a hoot!

Oh what a silly goose I am! But I guess what is good for the Michi-goose is good for the Michi-gander. I'm a thumb transplant? I stuck it out in Chicago and ended up near Detroit. Oh mitten you will wander.

Hey Dean and Cathy, welcome! Can't wait to see pictures of how you do your kitchen...I've got a countertop renovation in mind for the Airstream so I can't wait to see how the pros do it!

EEEEW, Midland! I hope (I am sure it isn't) that DOW plant doesn't smell as it did in the 40's. I was born in Detroit and our family favorite camping spot was Santa Rita Beach in Lexington on Lake Huron. Anyway to get there we drove past Midland. That smell then was the ONLY bad thing I can say about Michigan. We lived for a while in Boyne City before moving to California. I was 14 then so I remember how beautiful Michigan is. Never been back.
Anyway, welcome to Airsteaming and our great group. Have fun 'personalizing' your new coach. Carefull though....things like countertops that are appropiate for your home may be too heavy in the Airstream.
