New buyer Lookin'

I am looking seriously for an 80's AS 28-32 ft. Can someone give me some idea of common problems or areas of concern that I need to be aware of. I have never owned an AS before but believe that it is probably the best TT around.

Looking forward to comunicating with Y'all from Austin TX.

The biggest single problem will be finding one. There simply were not as many made in those years as the 60's and 70's.

There is no special problems related to that period, excepting the polybutylene pluming. Do remember you are looking for an RV that is now 15 to 25 years old, so almost any problem to be found anywhere on these forums is possible, just not particularly likely.

So get familiar with the "search" feature and check out posts for axles, rear end separation, tail droop, leaks, soft floors, peeling clearcoat, and probably a lot of things which do not come to mind just now.

Also, it seems to me that there is a rather active WBCCI group in the Austin area. If so, local knowledge may be available.

Good luck,

Mark
