New Bambi in the Family

Our son and daughter-in-law have joined the Airstream family. They have purchased a brand new 2006 19' Bambi Safari. They live in Tampa. We saw it for the first time on Sunday. Their TV is a bit of over-kill (Ford 350 psd.crew/long box). This is the first time that I have seen a rig where the TV is several feet longer than the Airstream. I am trying to get them signed up on the Forums. Here's a few pictures that I took in the rain at SuEllyn's Dad's house in Jacksonville.

Nice rig

You don't really think he got that big ol' Ford for the Bambi do you? I will bet it was a simple and it went something like this: "if you let me get the Bambi you get to choose the truck."

Makes sense to me and it's only fair!

I don't think that's too much truck for the trailer...and even if somebody else does, it's better this way than the other way around. They may need to get a towbar with a bigger drop so it tows level though. That's a sweet setup...silver TV and silver AS. They look sooo happy and proud! Is the truck a diesel?

What a neat way to get the family involved. Buy a "big" Airstream and then run away for an extended and extremely pleasurable trip. They realize now that the only way to see you on a regular basis is to have a similar trailer, with a truck that can get them to where ever it is you happen to be for the day, and back again in reasonable time.

Actually, now, if this were me, I'd be thinking that "someone" thinks that eventually I'll not be up to hauling that big ol trailer of mine around and will want to trade for a smaller one, and guess who just happens to have one and have the TV to accommodate a larger trailer .

It's nice to see that the family thinks your Airstream acquisition was obviously a wise one.

Yes, it's a Power Stroke Diesel (PSD).

Nice......

Like most Bambi owners (myself included), it won't be their last Airstream.....and the F-350 might not be overkill at some point either....

New Bambi in the Family

Great setup! Love the little windows on the Bambi.

They are prepared to pull anything if they decide to go bigger in the future.
