New Argosy owner in Oklahoma with questions

My name is Larry and I recently purchased a 1973 Argosy 24 foot travel trailer. The trailer has sat unused for over five years and I am trying to get it in usable condition. My first question is on the electrical. It has a G.E breaker box with two twenty amp breakers and I need the correct wiring for the black-green-and white wires into the breaker box and also exiting the breaker box. A crude drawing or a actual schematic will be great. I have been reading alot of the posts and some of my questions have already been answered. This is a very useful forum and keep up the good work. Next I will tackle the plumbing. Thanks in advance. Larry

Hi, from an Argosy owner in Chandler, Oklahoma. Can't help you with your problem, but wanted to welcome another Oklahoman. I recently had the Intelipower installed in my Argosy and a new 12v fuse panel. I'd be happy to take a picture of the breakers for you if you think it might help. This is a picture of my unit before the new installation.

IIRC, Black goes to the breaker, white goes to the common (where the wires all screw into a common bus, and green is ground.

breaker box

Larry.Inside the breaker box you should find 6 wires. two black two white and two either green or black. There is tow breakers that shut off or on the black wires. The Black wire from the pigtail to the park or other 110 volt source shoud fasten to the bars that the breakers fasten to. There will be a bar with 4 to 8 holes in it that all of the white wires fasten to and a second bar with 4 to 8 holes in it That all the green and white wires fasten to. The black wires that go out to the trailer both fasten to the screws in the breakers themselves. It is a pretty simple panel to hook up. Curt

I went with the 60A Intellipower. It was a choice between 45A and 60A, so we went with the bigger one just on general principal. For the money we thought it would be the best choice. Would love for you to make the trip up to look at the Argosy when you have time. We've worked hard on it and have it about like we want it. You may be able to get some ideas for yours. Email me and I'll send you our phone number. We are not far from you at all. Would like to see your trailer if it's all right. Judy and Bob

I have a 73

I think they should have used 3 circuit breakers and a main breaker
one for the charger
one for the 110 outlets
one for the air conditioner

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your "new" Argosy. You will have many fine years of fun, fixing and camping. If your breaker box is like mine it has no labels, this is really annoying. I have labeled each breaker so I know what it does.
