Great you found a project trailer, a
Sovereign 30' at that.
1962 is the first year of the torsion axles. Maybe the previous owner(s) installed new ones for you.
Now you can have all kinds of fun and disagreements about the interior design of your renovated
Sovereign. Airstream generally were great interior designers, no space left unused. Silly to say, but I like to place the toilet as the first thing in the interior design. Why, because the bath layout determines a lot about tanks, plumbing, electrical and heating systems. The bath requires them all.
A Forums participant SteinVT was rebuilding a 62 Ambassador 28' from the ground up. I haven't seen him here for a while, but his trailer is very close to yours. He is a great builder.
Post pictures when you get it home. And consider a project thread in the Airstream Trailer Knowledgebase found near the bottom of the Forums page. That is a great spot to do a "blog" of your renovation adventures.
