New and EXCITED Airsteam owners!!

From Olympia Washington in the Great Northwest!
My wife and I (and our two dogs) are looking forward to many great adventures in our new 19' Safari.
Can anyone tell me of a sturdy and fairly lightweight portable dog fence for letting them outside without tying them up?? One is older, one is young but both are large and well behaved.I know i'm asking alot, but wondered if such an item exists.
Thanks for any info or advice on this or any other related matter.

Hi, welcome to the forum, and welcome to Airstreaming!

I have no dog advice, but I'm sure others will chip in.

You'll find a very active group here in the NW. We just finished a great get-together at Trout Lake, and have the end of the season blowout coming up at the end of October at Beverly Beach near Newport, OR. Mark your calendars, we'd love to see you and your new Bambi there!

I think I would need another trailer to carry enough fence to keep my dogs locked up. We do not like to tie them either, but sometimes you have to. When we are in that type of area, we do frequent walks and let them run when out of the campground area. We also like to take them to the lake for a swim. Mostly we camp where they can roam and interact with our friend's dogs.

hi 'shrimp and welcome.......

dog show folks and handlers often use 'portable exercise pens' in a variety of sizes...based on dog height...i've got a zinc coated product like this...
http://www.digitpet.com/product_grou...FQIuGgod8Vv_Cw

that i've had for nearly 20 years...folds very compactly...6 panels or add more.
it's about the gauge of 'grill/grate' so it's study without overkill.
works great on grass or tarmac....
just google 'exercise pens dogs portable'...many vendors...

be forwarned however that many rv parks and camping parks expressly forbid using outdoor pens, like these...some parks are fine with 'em.

there are also some nifty folding dog houses...but again many places don't allow them...

it seems more parks allow 'stakes with a line, than portable runs...

happy camping the nwest offers great options...

cheers
2air'

Welcome from North Vancouver! 2air said what I was going to say. It's probably a lot easier to carry a couple of lines for them. That or train a perfect recall and let them loose. Be sure to add pictures of the pups in the pet section!

Hi Stephanie

When is the Blow Out at Beverly Beach? John & I might hop in the Quicksilver
and head on over. October is a nice time on the Oregon Coast. Warm Regards,
Betty
