New Airstreamers in San Antonio

I would like to introduce ourselves to the group. We are Bruce & Roseann Wood from San Antonio, TX. We have always liked Airstreams and had an opportunity to purchase a '97 30' Excella 1000. We love it!!! We have had it about 2 months and made one trip to the coast for a fishing weekend. We liked it so well my wife suggested we leave it there the rest of the summer! I told her no, we are not leaving this nice trailer there all summer. We decided to look for something else we could leave there without having too much done to it by the elements. Last week we were having lunch together and I saw an ad in the paper for a '73 27' Overlander for $1500.00. I thought this is either the biggest piece of trash or the biggest treasure!! Turns out it is going to be a treasure. Once it is cleaned up and a few items replaced-Converter, A/C, etc, this will be perfect for the coast. Now we not only have one, but TWO! I will probably be looking for help here to get the older one ready.

Welcome Bruce & Roseann! Sounds like you're already addicted to aluminum, and you've got a good combination - one to camp in, and one to work on. Good luck with your refurb and keep us posted on how it goes!

Welcome Bruce and Roseann. We are just up the road in Austin and share your enthusiasm for aluminum. It sounds like you may have your work cut out for you fixing up the old AS, but seems like a great idea to put the older one down by the coast.
