New Airstreamers

Hi,

My wife Maxine and I (Arlin) have recently purchased our first Airstream. It is a 2013 31' Classic. We also have a motorhome. We want to get back to some of the camping we used to do when our kids were young, and can't do in a large motorhome. We realize that the Airstream will still restrict some options due to it's size, but it will be more suitable than the coach. We chose our particular model because of the flexibility it has for our three Shih Tzus. We have ample space for their crates, due to the free standing table.

As members of Palmetto Cove RV Park (soon to be host to Alumalina), we are active in operation of the park (I am on the board of directors) as hosts, and other activities. We also have a lot in an owner park near Helen, Georgia where we are storing the Airstream for a while. We just spent several days there enjoying our new baby. We will be hosting at "The Cove" next week before returning to spend some more time in Georgia. October will be a very busy month for us with board responsibilities and a motorhome rally we are hosting, but we are contemplating the possibility of participating in Alumalina.

Arlin, although my unit is slightly smaller than your new trailer, my experience with being denied a camping spot due to length in parks is pretty much nil. We do commercial campgrounds about half the time and state or federal land otherwise. Our issue was much older federal parks out West where 25'+ was never imagined.

Hope you join the crowd at Alumalina!
