New Airstreamer - Ottawa, Canada
Hi Folks!
Great site, have already learned a ton from your experiences and tips, thank-you very much. Just starting my first Airstream project, a 1965 Caravel, named "TheToaster'. It was reasonably rough and smelled lovely because of the rot in the rear. I've got some pretty neat ideas and my goal is to create the most creative, innovative and highest quality Caravel restoration ever done. Not too ambitious
I've started a blog at www.vintagetoaster.blogspot.com if anyone is interested in seeing the progress. I've also got many parts to sell as I won't be using many originals in the end. Thanks again for all of your posts, they really are appreciated. If there are any other Caravel owners out there, I'd also love to share your experiences!

Howdy and welcome, Dan! Henri, my project, is still where he has sat for the last 10 years, just to the southeast of you near Westport, ON.
Your location makes for excellent ease of reno. Where Henri is, there are too many things to tempt me away from working on him, like boating, fishing, and a bunch of very friendly camp neighbours.
Curious to know what was wrong with the ABS endcaps that you want to pull them out?
Aage

Glad to be here as well SuEllyn and Brian!
Howdy Aage! We had a cottage down the road on Black Lake a few years back...Understand the "distractions". Nothing wrong with the end caps, just want to remove everything to get a good look, replace/upgrade the insulation and re-do the wiring. Want to make sure everything is perfect and one of a kind. The money starts rolling...
Marvin and Annie;
I live 3.27 minutes from where you go at the campground, literally almost around the corner! I think I'll try to make Lombardy as it's pretty close, maybe we'll cross paths. Thanks for the kind welcome.

Dan,
Yes, my wife and I love this area, we find it incredibly beautiful around here! Although folks that live here look at me in disbelief when I tell them that.
Yeah, I understand the desire to "make it new". Just that there have been lots of stories on here about endcaps damaged in removing them, and guess what? They don't make them any more. So it's worth being super fussy as you do it.
I found a great welding shop around here if you need any of that done, by the way.
