Greetings fellow members. My name is Curtis Tarwater (TARH2O) from Boerne TX and I've just embarked on a new chapter of my life with a 1975 25' Airstream TradeWind International (looks like the original number was '101' on the back - possibly some executive with Airstream).
I've always had a soft spot for Airstreams since I took my first RV trip when I was 11 and saw a beautiful one at the Grand Canyon. Since then I've done lots of tent camping and outdoor adventures. Now that I'm older (and wiser and financially able) I am moving into the "glamping" arena with a great trailer.
I've been staying in my parents RV for a month (due to an impending separation) and it has taught me a lot about myself. I have a severe case of "stuffitis" (the over-accumulation of things and stuff). After living in the RV for a month and not having 80% of my stuff it is crystal clear that I will be clearing the clutter and living a much more simple lifestyle.
I thought about going fulltime in my camper but with 2 children and a chocolate lab that need a room of their own that's not an option at this time. I'll be getting a small 1800 sqft house with a large area for my AS.
As for the plans for the AS I plan on taking it down to the flooring and build out a custom layout for me and the kids so that we all have our own bed and closet. The front gaucho is going to be converted to a twin bed/couch with a pullout trundle bed underneath. The back Full size bed will be move to the back with closets aplenty.
And because of my job a an energy consultant working from my house I can literally do some workamping next summer when my TradeWind is ready and travel around with the kiddos.
This forum has been a wealth of information already and I look forward to interacting more with those on this forum as my Airstream is transformed into my dream camper.

Welcome Curtis to the wonderful world of Airstreaming. We are glad to have you with us.
I have been through a divorce with two kids and I feel your pain. Hopefully yours won't be as bad as mine was (34 years ago).
Tradewinds are the best. I love mine. I have made numerous improvements to mine and I am not done yet. You can check out my mods at "Dan's 66 Tradewind Improvements"
I am just now learning about "stuffitis". You are way ahead of me there.
You will enjoy this forum and Airstreaming, I am sure.

Bruce you are the prime reason that I am on the board now. If it wasn't for your guidance and help I would have never found the "Tortuga de Plata". I look forward to more interactions with you and the forum.
