New Airstream owner
Just want to introduce myself and thank all of you for the great volume of information I gleaned from the forums. My wife and I just pulled the trigger on a 2011 International 27FB serenity and a 2010 Tundra. We are going to full time it for the next year at least, starting June 1st. We're selling cars finding movers and storage....its a lot of work and money trying to get off the grid.
Thanks for all your help and cant wait for the adventure to start.

We are expecting photos
Rbphoto: With a user name like that you better come through with photos to document your travels. Actually that isn't really a threat...more of a hope. Have fun and we are glad to have you.

We just got our 2009 27' FB Ocean Breeze a few weeks ago and have a 2010 Tundra to pull it with. So far this has been a good combination, but haven't had to go over any high passes yet (~12 MPG between LA and San Mateo camp grounds in San Clemente). We will be going to Morro Bay in about a week and then up into the High Sierras to Huntington Lake early June for 5 nights. We should have a good handle on what our MPG will be after these two trips. Have fun with your new TT/TV combo.

I'll be real interested in your thoughts on that after you run it up, and more importantly, down some high elevations. I need a tow vehicle to haul a 27FB from the Gulf Coast up into the Rockies, tooling around in the Rockies for a while, and then back.
So far, the F250 family seems to be a better choice than a half ton, but I don't want more truck than we need. Well, I guess that's inaccurate. I want a BIT more truck than we need, but not twice as much if that makes sense.

As you acquire your new freedom, and leave 'the grid'...do you notice how everything seems like a magnet pulling you. But once your 'out there' you will get the freedom bug and probably never recover from it. Good luck and be safe doing 'your thing'.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes! You will def be seeing pictures as we plan on doing a blog. Gringo...we have really enjoyed reading yours about Living in the Bermuda Triangle (Airbuckled and Shawn, I am going to check yours out right now!).
Hopefully we will intersect with some of you along the way! You can track us when the blog is up in June, the domain name will be GingerGoesGlamping.com. Happy Trails to you...

Welcome
Welcome. Hope your travels are enjoyable and relaxing. Will read about your Tundra performance with interest. We just bought 2011 Tundra and 23 ft Safari and have only towed it home and to storage but can't wait to get out for some weekends and vacation time.
