Hi Everyone!
My Dad purchased his first Airstream when I was a kid - a 20ish'
1968 Caravel. Then he "moved up" to an 80's 31' Excella while keeping the
Caravel. Unfortunately, the
Caravel was washed away in a flood at the Penn Woods Airstream Park in PA. Then he sold the 31' and "moved up" again to a 34' 80's Excella and still has this trailer. (WB # 30303) So...I got the fever honest! My husband and I have been looking for a small vintage Airstream for several years. We found our baby this summer in Bradenton, FL. She is a
1966 17' Caravel. Her previous owners took excellent care of her. She is in pristine condition. And, all original except the refrigerator and upholstery. I brought her home to Maryland the first week of July. We are enjoying her immensely. We have taken her to our favorite "local" campground - Big Meadow Campground in Shenandoah National Park and to Davis, WV to visit my brother (who temporarily has my Dad's 34') for a "Mini Ralley in the Valley". We have several more trips planned before the winter. She is quite the conversation starter! We are learning all we can about her care and maintenance so we can keep her in pristine condition. We look forward to meeting other Airstreamers, and other vintage trailer owners, down the road!
