Mainers just beginning Airstream journey

Ron and I are very excited to be starting this new Airstreaming adventure. We have spent our recreational time canoeing and sailing for many years and are excited to be adding land based exploration! We are in the midst of thinking through a mid to late fall trip to New Mexico and Arizona from Maine so we will be tapping into your wisdom for sure! We have a new to us 2013 Flying Cloud 25RB and have been mostly getting acquainted with it in the yard, with a few local trips planned in August and September. We look forward to learning more and meeting you virtually and in person.

Welcome from Colorado: Nice you decided on a "land yacht" as something else different from sailing. Traveling in an Airstream is very enjoyable. You're bringing your home with you where ever you decide to go.

Maybe put Colorado on your list of states to visit when you travel. We often say after several weeks of traveling that Colorado is the most scenic state we visited. I think you would find it enjoyable.

Congrats on your new (to you) AS. May it bring you much joy as you travel this beautiful land!

We are here to help in anyway we can!

All the best!

PS The 2022 Airstream Club International Rally will be held in Maine. Maybe we will see you there!

Many thanks, Hans627 and dbj216!

I have been to Colorado several times only as tacked on days to conferences and really do look forward to visiting more of it and for longer!

I just looked up the rally to see it's in Fryeburg! I think there's a very high likelihood you will see us there. Fryeburg is beautiful and very different than our little part of Maine.

Welcome aboard the AS life. We lived in Linconville, Maine for many years. Our senses seem to pickup on the Mainers in the wild. We had a few people inquire about our “home state” Maine sticker on our Bambi while we were in Zion last month.

Getting prepped for a trip to ME/NH next week. We have family in Rockland, ME and Meriden, NH. Should be there for the Lobster Festival.

Enjoy the future travels. All the western states are massive and awesome.

Safe Travels

Mike and Jeanne

Hi Mike and Jeanne,

We were just on the dock in Rockland for a few days for the Blues Festival. It's been many years since we were in the harbor for the lobster festival though it was a required stop when the girls were little. My parents who RV'd for a long time said Mainers were like magnets. They ran into them nearly everywhere they went!

Thanks for reaching out!
