Lost - where are my posts?

I am lost in the forums, somewhere...I posted in "member introduction", and I see it there, but I just don't know where to find my other posts. I got an email showin' my newest post, but I just don't know where the others are...can someone simplify this process for me...Janet?

I'm not as knowledgeable and beautiful as Janet, but try this. Go to your profile by clicking on your screen name. Then click on "statistics". Then click on 'Find all posts by fossilseeker'. A list of your posts should be there.

Go to the "Search" tab. Click Advanced Search. Under there you can search for posts by the user Avatar "Fossilseeker" - and find every thread you've started or posted on - from the most recent back.

Threads with little or no activity don't stay active on the Portal screen for long, but you can also search for recent posts under "User CP" and "New Posts tab.

At the bottom of the User CP screen you can see "Thanks" which people have sent you (Formerly known as Karma).... If you see a post that amuses or informs or just interests you, you can always send a private "thanks" in addition or instead of replying publicly on the forum.

Enjoy it here and keep poking around. You'll find many interesting things! (EDIT: See #2 post - an easier way & something I'd forgotten all about - and I'm a Rivet Master! Advanced Search is really great when you're looking for something that requires 2 or 3 criteria. Example: I want to find a post by Foiled Again with the word "Upholstery" in it. )

Just click on your name. One of the choices is to find your own posts.

Also, in your profile, next to "About Me" is "Statistics", where you can choose the threads you have started, or just the posts.

Lastly, under the Quick links heading in the horizontal blue bar with links in it up top is "Subscribed Threads", which can be switched off, but default is On, IIRC.

Also as an interesting side note...

If you reply to a thread on the main page and refresh the page it won't show on your portal under new posts again until someone else posts too it.

I should have made this more clear: "subscribed" happens when you start a new thread, or reply to an existing one. You are automatically subscribed to that thread, if you left the default setting.

To see if you are set up for it, just go to User CP (control panel) which is a link on the far left in the top horizontal blue line with links in it, then go to Settings & Options, Edit Options, Messaging & Notification.

The second choice down is Default Thread Subscription Mode. In there you can shut off the feature, or choose various email options concerning it.

Truth! I have found that if I even visit or just read a thread on the main page, it disappears until someone else posts. One of the mods recently posted an easy way to find such a thread, that works for me: Go to Quick Links, then click on Today's Posts, and you will find all the active threads for the current day. It's a pretty useful feature.

Use the "Search" option in the blue bar at the top of the page, right above the ads and under the Private Messages link. When you click on it, a drop down menu will appear.

Click on either:
* "Search > View all discussions started by you"
* "Search > View all your posts"

I also use:
* "New Posts" in the same blue bar. It will only show threads you haven't yet looked at since the last post.
* "Quick Links > Today's Posts" shows all of the posts in the last 24 hours whether you have looked at them or not.

The "Quick Links > Mark all Posts Read" feature is another favorite. It helps keep the length of the "New Posts" list manageable showing only the posts you haven't yet perused.
