Looking at an AS--Need some advice pls!

Hello--

We are just looking for our first Airstream trailer and have our eye on a 25 foot 1969 that is listed by the owner as a "Land Yacht". The photos of the trailer do show the words "Land yacht" on the rear, but the guide we have for 1969 says that that 25" was the Tradewind.

Can anyone help us out with this?

This seems like a very friendly and helpful forum.

Thanks very much for any help in advance. I'm sure we will have more questions as we get deeper into this new obsession, err I mean hobby!

Titles

Don't know if this will help. My 76 31ft Sovereign Intl. also says "Land Yatch" on the plate that is fastened on the side next to the door. I think "Land Yatch" must be sort of a generic title. But it says "Sovereign" in smaller print on the plate and on the title. Bill

Hi and Welcome! Yes, I believe Land Yacht is a generic term. If you are curious about the different models, lengths, and years you might check out www.vintageairstream.com. Search under the section titled PHOTO ARCHIVES. It is a fabulous resource! Good Luck!

All late 60's onward thru the mid 80's? are Land Yachts, then there are the specfic models among others;Bambi, Tradewind, Overlander, Ambassador, Sovereign are a few of the main ones. Not all models were made all years then there were some like the Carvanner that was the same length but had an unsual interior that was only made for 3 or 4 years. If nothing else they were inconsistent Then there were some years where the Excella trim level was available in all the lengths, and some years they were only the larger units
