Longtime Lurker's Arrival

Hello all...I've read many of your posts and have learned alot of Airstream specifics here already!

I'm a regular over at rv.net and own a fiver currently. I've been in awe of the silver bullet ever since my small steps carried me into one as a little kid visiting the nice 'old people' camping next to us somewhere in southwest Florida in the mid 70's-some of you remember them-they had a suburban!

I'v registered to be able to interact a little more. I'm wondering if my next RV will be another 5th wheel, an older (but not too old!) diesel pusher, an Avion(with basement), an airsteam toy hauler, classic 34', or some sort of custom-configured unit...

Looking forward to spending some time here.

Mark

Welcome to the forums. Like everything else, Airstreams are not for everybody. Whatever works for you. A lot depends how much traveling you do or plan to do in the future. They are a great traveling rv.

Mark,
Welcome! Everything you could ever want to know about Airstream is right here. If it isn't, just ask and someone will have the answer.

Yup, just stick around, and you can learn all there is to know (well, almost!) about Airstreams. As noted above, they're not for everyone - they are terrific if you want to travel, but not as roomy as a 5er if you're gonna' sit in one place. Yup, no basement, smallish tanks, "odd" curving walls, but lots of style and an iconic history.

If you really get interested, drop in to the nearest Forums or WBCCI rally and get a tour of a bunch of coaches and see what might work for you and your travel style.

Meanwhile, welcome!

Thanks for the wishes all...

I'm absolutely intrigued by all that Airstream has become...some of you may shun what I've dreamt of doing to a 370LE (it involves a 5th wheel hitch forward of where the front axle is!) but generally I'm a tinkerer and would love to eventually remodel/upfit a larger trailer.

In the meantime, I'll be reading and asking questions...most likely you'll guage how close I am to making the big move when my question count ramps up!
