Smile Let the fun begin!

Hello new friends, my husband and I are the proud owners of a 2022 Airstream Atlas. We’ve had it for 1 week and have spent many hours familiarizing ourselves with all the intricacies of our new toy. We’ve been camping for years, just celebrated our 50th anniversary, figured it was time to retire the tent.
We will have tons of questions down the road but my first two are about soap and TP. We were told only marine/RV toilet paper so as not to clog us the system. Any ideas if this is necessary? Also, soaps/shampoos, cleaning supplies, any restrictions there?
Thank you in advance for the help!

Welcome to the Forum!

We use Charmin Ultra Soft TP. According to the manufacturer it is safe for use in RV black tanks, and we've had no issues. (Not Charmin Ultra Strong). I have tested a sheet in a glass of water, it seems to break up just as easily as RV specific TP and it's much more comfortable to use.

That said, I believe your Atlas has a macerator, so I'm not certain if that makes a difference.

Welcome to the Airstream version of camping! 50 years, married, in a TENT? Is that possible? I predict you'll love your upgrade.
As for soap, etc. we tend toward the lighter side. We pre-dilute the soap dispenser we keep by the bathroom sink (some kind of peppermint liquid soap.) What's probably more important is an effective holding tank treatment. Don't go overboard with the most aggressive stuff out there. A mild citrus or lavender based treatment does it for us. (And we do the dishes in a plastic wash basin that gets dumped into a bucket outside the door to extend the tank volume and reduce odors. Since you were tent campers, that shouldn't be too much of a stretch.)
