Keeping it cool!

Hello,
my mom has a motor-home and we cannot get it below 80 degrees here in the summer in las vegas. Can anyone offer some suggestions please?

Its a 30ft, Winnebago Itasca motor home, model Sunrise, year is 1999.

What has been done to keep it cool so far...
Solar Screens, silver air bubble sheets placed on windows between glass and curtains. A/C (2 yrs. old) on lowest setting (not enough), awning is out, parked with some shade, doors & windows kept closed, shades drawn.

She is getting older and I have concern for her fluid balances and heat exhaustion.

Should we install an additional window AC unit or an swamp cooler, if so any recommendations on a unit and or installation?

Would a fan help, or opening one of the ceiling vents, geez just any help or small suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Maybe you should consider adding a second roof A/C towards the rear.
Also make sure the roof top A/C has been serviced and it operating normal.

NO Window Unit.

Do the roof vents have fans that can draw the warm air up and out? On my trailer there is a huge difference in interior temperature with the front vent fan turned on and the rear vent open. The fan draws the warm air out and keeps the interior temperature reasonable.

Humm, why not a window unit what are the pros and cons? One of her concerns is that if there are two units the wiring in the home would fry up, and the load could not be handled...?

Swamp cooler (evaporative cooler) not recommended unless the humidity is usually low (which it might be in your area)...high humidity renders them pretty inefficient.

yes, it has vents to pull air out, but my concern for her is that i would pull out the precious cool air as well.

yes its pretty arid here, no worries of it being humid, in regards to a swamp cooler. I just don't know what the pro's and con's are with an additional ac unit versus a swamp cooler.
