Just want to say hello. So, Hello
Hi Everyone,
Greetings from Roland, Nicole and Toby the dog, here in sunny South Chandler Arizona. I work as a Design Engineer at a medical manufacturing company in Tempe, and Nicole works for Nationwide Insurance in Scottsdale. Toby does not work; he is a stay-at-home-dog.
I've been camping (RVing) since I was about ten years old. First, it was in my parents 21' Shasta and then in their 25' Starcraft. I mention this because it was always my dad's dream to get an Airstream and tour the country after he retired. That's how I first learned of them. Unfortunately, he was never able to realize his dream because cancer got him when he was 62. I do not intend on letting that happen to me.
I had been tent camping for quite a while when I decided to get an RV for myself. My first was a Fleetwood Pop-up. It wasn't too bad, but I soon wanted something a little bigger. Since I mostly boondock, I still wanted something small. The choice was clear: a new 19' Bambi. We love it. Everywhere we go people want to see it. We should charge admission.
I hope I can add to the already impressive knowledge base you have here. I occasionally post over at RV.net and hope I can offer my thoughts here too.

Welcome
Hi Roland,
I imagine you have no problem going from point A to point B pulling your new Bambi with your Ford F250 PSD 4X4. I love that kind of overkill. Great combination for traveling just about anywhere your dog wants to take you. By the way, we use to have a stay at home cat, now after about 12,000 miles of Airstreaming, she is no longer a stay at home cat, can't leave without her or she would have a fit.

Welcome to the Forums. I once had a pop-up as well... You're going to love the aluminum upgrade.

Glad to have you aboard Roland, Nicole and, of course, Toby. There is becoming quite a group of us AZ streamers in and around the vally. If you aren't aware, there is a Forums rally next month in Cottonwood. Be great if you could join us. Check out the rally link along the left side of the home page under 4 Corners Unit rally.

dude, come to our rally this weekend (i can say dude, like i'm a native californian) at 29 Palms. Fri - Mon or any amount of time you'd like.
it's the nor calif airstream rally in so calif. this weekend. we have the friendlyiest folk, the prettyiest girls, and the tallest cowboys on the planet (although some of us can't spell, well). and are willing to make room for you and yours. why? because were givers that's why. (or just "because", that works also).
and you could caravan with the three other bauxites traveling from PHX. see, it's working. drop everything, pack now.
oh, and a "margi ball", and lightninng and thunder will be there as well.

Best of luck to you. Don't dent it and watch what you back into. Replacing Airstream panels is $$$$$. Make sure there are no little urchins with BB guns in your neighborhood either.
Sorry to hear about your dad. Jay B. down at Oasis RV died this X-mas of cancer for those folks who have been down this way in Tucson.
Love to hear about your new boondocking stories in the upgrade.

Sorry to hear about Jay's passing. Spent a few conversations with him on the phone and he was a nice guy.
