Just love this site!
A quick hello to everyone. I have been lurking for a few months, I currently
do not own an AS but plan to purchase one in the next year or so. What a wealth of info this site has given me! I'm leaning towards the 22'-25' safari
SE models but thanks to the "towing" thread, I've discovered that my 2001
4Runner will not be up to the task. Looking forward to more input and member reviews of their trailers and towing rigs. Thanks everyone!

Welcome Jeff
I like U fortunately found this site before we actually purchased our Airstream. It has been an invaluable tool for me. The thoughts here are real not from a manual written by someone whom maybe never owned an Airstream. These are all real folks with actual experience. Believe me they are real,we have camped with a few. They are just like family.
Jeff there are hundreds of Airstreams out there so don't jump on the first one ya see, and Unless U can drive to see one BEWARE OF eBay and craigs list there are very good SCAMMERS there.
GOOD LUCK with your search.
Roger

hi jeff and welcome to the forums!
it can be VERY helpful to attend a rally or 'stream gathering.
that is a chance to SEE and tour lots of sizes and models.
plus the food and people are tasty and interesting!
don't need a trailer to do this and those wacky cali folks have a LOT of rallies on the calendar...
i'd suggest NOT buying a new tow vehicle till AFTER the stream is locked in.
it's tempting to start with the horse, but many buyers have learned that it can be costly to go this route.
it is very common to end up with a stream just a tad larger than originally planned and a NEW tv that is just a bit too small.
have fun LOOKING and trying on the aluminum...
cheers

Welcome Jeff,
Keep us posted as your purchase pursuit plays out, and remember we love pictures. We are not responsible for any behavioral changes that may occur when you become a AS addict. This is a eclectic clan. Just remember pick up a few Hawiian shirts and a pair of Pink Flamings before you head out on your first road trip.

We bought our 22' Safari Sport about this time last year and have several thousand miles on her without any problems. Most of our travels involve mountain camping/boondocking. We feel our rig is perfectly balanced and wouldn't change a thing if we had to do over. With gas prices as they are, the mileage we get is just another benefit.
