Just Looking

Hi, From Wichita, Kansas!

I have been recently bitten by the Airstream bug, and am looking for a way to get my wife 'infected' as well. Over the last 36 years we have enjoyed three pop-ups and a small fifth wheel while our kids were growing up. Now that we are grandparents, we are ready to begin our search for about a ten-year-old Airstream, in the 25-foot range. We are also looking into installing a 'Pull-Rite' hitch under the bed of our 2002 Tundra, 4WD Access Cab tow vehicle. We'd like to hear from others more experienced in these areas.

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Best of luck in your search for that perfect Airstream.

Welcome!

Have you seen the Classifieds HERE? Some pretty yummy stuff is listed there.

I'd recommend you check for upcoming rallies in your area - WBCCI as well as Forum rallies. It's your best way to find the layout that fits your personality. Also check your dealers - you may decide on a new or nearly new unit after you see what's out there. It's far better to actually get inside and walk around, see if you can fit thru the door to the bathroom, try the bed to see if it's big enough and you can get to the bathroom without awakening each other. Diagrams and floor plans won't tell you that you can't close the door to the crapper without cracking your kneecaps.

I've heard Airstream of Arkansas is one of the best in the country, and even if it's a long drive - I'd consider visiting if I were in your area. (Make it a weekend trip and take her out for a nice candlelit dinner with wine and violins if you really want her to think that having an Airstream will be romantic. )

Paula
