Just joined. Fully rebuilding a 1969 Globetrotter

Hi All, I just signed up.

I am completly rebuilding a 1969 Globe Trotter, apart from taking the outer skin apart, everything else is being stripped out and rebuilt, but with a modern interior as the original was water damaged impractical for our touring needs.

Belmont's photos - powered by SmugMug has complete history.

Welcome aboard

Have fun with it. The wife and I worked on our 1970 Overlander to get it ready for vacations. Took us a year and change to get it up to snuff. Did not attempt anything as ambitious as what you have in mind.

Welcome to the forums!

Congrats on your ambitious project! It will be a great ride! The forums are a wonderful resource and motivator! When my hubby was restoring our 1963 Bambi [frame off] he found lots of help here! Kudos to the forum members!

We love to see a chronicle of progress, so post comments and pictures regularly ~ we are all a bit vicarious here.

Here is a link to my husband's thread on our restoration. It took him about 9 months, we kept everything original, but you may find some of the same problems or have similar questions on different things so take a look he has lots of how to pictures and explanations. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f36/...mbi-17925.html

Good luck with your project. You will be thrilled when finished. Take more digital photos as you deconstruct your trailer than you ever think you might need, you will be surprised how many times you will refer back to them 6 months down the road when putting something back together!

Have fun!

Welcome. Thanks for the photos. You're doing more work in a year than I get done in 3. I know you'll love it when you're done. Done? I don't think that's a word in the vintage owner's vocabulary...
