Hi just joined and looks like a great forum. Just got ahold of a 1974 27' Overlander International Airstream. Needs quite a bit of work so this looks like the place to start. For starters don't have the key to the battery compartment or else lock is frozen. Does anyone know if I drill out the lock are there factor style replacements available. I get to the broken window on another post. Thanks much for any help.
Congrats on your "new" Airstream! You will love it! While I don't have a direct answer to your question (I am sure someone will...) you might check these most excellent sites for parts/information for Airstreams:

You may find a key from an AS dealer or a friend may have one that works. "Most" AS keys to the compartments will work on "other" AS trailers. Good luck with the AS and Welcome to the FORUMS.
Congratulations on your purchase of the Airstream! Restoring them is a lot of fun.....take your time and ask lots of questions here. You will find everyone to be very helpful.
Compartment keys are keyed alike on Airstreams just for this very reason. Another Airstreamer will always have a key that will fit. Find another Airstreamer and his battery box key will fit yours; or go to an Airstream dealer who should have a replacement.

_towed mine to a locksmith and had them make keys for all compartments (also found a 'present' box in one with lp gas detectors, rivets & rivet gun, caulk gun, all kinds of fun stuff!) but you may want to consider these:
