Hello fellow Airstream Enthusiasts
Just joined today as I anticipate ordering a new Airstream.
Several years ago was an owner of a 1976 Land too busy to finish restoration and it took up my whole driveway so had to let it go. Now looking to place an order for a 2021 (more time camping and traveling, less time polishing)

With Jackson Center closed, and with the downturn in the economy, wondering if this is a good or bad time to buy a new Airstream? Not concerned if it comes in later this year for I have to build my outbuilding. More concerned about a quality build if parts inventory gets low at Airstream, and pricing. Actually some dealers seem to be willing to negotiate pricing to a degree.

Look forward to fun and value of the forums and "meeting" many of you along the way.
Stay safe and healthy all

First of all, welcome!

If I had to guess, I'd say this has rather suddenly become a buyers market. Bear in mind that it may be a while before you get a chance to use your Airstream anywhere but your own driveway. Your HOA (if you have one) allows that, right?

Um, it also occurs to me that your Airstream dealer may not even be open for sales right now, depending on what state you're in and what restrictions are applicable there.

Welcome again. You may very well have an opportunity to get a "voluntary repo" and canceled orders for 2020. Drove to Walmart yesterday for pickup service and saw two areas.along 301 with motorcycle, john boat, jet skis for sale. Make offer prices. Someone overextended already gets it. Lots of people still in denial, but reality is coming at them at 200 MPH.

I would not be shocked 2022 will be the next new model year.
Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

Well Greg, if you are willing to wait, I believe camping will some day be allowed. Yesterday I heard doctor Whitaker from a Tacoma area hospital and basically laid it all out - new germ, potential threat similar tracking to previous new germs. Get out take walks, camp was her advice. Follow distance guidelines. Sneeze and cough in your elbow- she said the REAL reason for this national quarantine was to make it so medical facilities were not overrun.
It will not go away and get this, there are three more strains working their way through animals right now. So, really what we have is a newer generation of germ if you think about it, that we have no antibodies built up. Japanese doctors have a short kill remedy that kills it in infected person within 4 days as of today. Yea! Stock Market and Airstreams will be back!

Welcome from Colorado: Having lived in Iowa 40 years and then Minnesota for almost 30 years I know the midwest well. We retired here where our sons live.

I think good buying times are coming for those who can swing it. I think it will take some time for the US economy to rebuild after this pandemic. It will take longer for folks to put their lives back in regular order when the pandemic subsides. My 401k just became a 201k if you know what I mean. We gotta hunker down for a while.
