just a friendly hi to all...

i just joined this site and am very excited by all of the like-minded others who know and appreciate real beauty and quality that only airstream delivers. my husband and i just purchased our first airstream a few days ago after a long time looking. he retired a year ago and until now we never had much time for travel so i hope we can make up for lost time. after 37+ years of marriage, working, raising 2 kids, it's about time. well, that's all for now. i know i'll be plenty active on the forums very soon. thanks, in advance for understanding my excitement about a 28 year old motorhome. you'd be surprised at how many (non-airstream fans) just don't get it. we have friends that just bought a brand new 2007 40' loaded diesel winnebago motorhome and i wouldn't even consider trading them for my "new" excella!

Welcome, and we are glad that you at least join the rest of us in "getting it". You will find you've joined a very passionate group of people who love their Airstreams, and talking about them and posting helpful hints even more. Use the search component for almost any question you might have and you will likely find the answer. And glad to have you on board. Pictures of your unit are always much appreciated.

Welcome Gearheads!

I'm a trailer person myself but I know what you're feeling. Enjoy! See you down the road.... don't forget to flick your high beams at other Airstreamers.

Congrats on your "new" purchase! We just got one ourselves within the last two weeks (1984 310), and wouldn't trade it for anything! Good luck and happy times with yours!

Airstreamers and Susan:

Welcome to the forums and your "new" motorhomes. We just purchased Seymour (1982 310 Turbo Diesel) last July and we're even more excited today about our new addition than we were then. And I know exactly what you're talking about other people not understanding our attraction and passion to our aluminum homes on wheels.

If I could just hurry up and get to retirement so that we can enjoy Seymour on a more regular basis I'll be even happier. Until then, we'll have to be satisfied with doing some "drive-way camping" every chance we get.

Welcome and congratulations again!

- m

ps. We'd love to see pictures of your new babies.
