Hi all
my name is johnny I'm out on the west coast in Corralitos California we just had a fire out here, but I wasn't much worried about the airstream. I'm a general building contractor with a lot of interests and skill.
I just bought a 78 31 footer that needs an interior remodel. I have fallen in love with the idea of stripping out the interior and puting up a polishable
aluminum skin on the interior ceiling. Has anyone done this ? what kind of aluminum roll material does one use?

Hi Johnny,

You might go to Forum Listings and scroll down until you find that subject and associated writings. By the way, welcome to the forum and glad to hear that the fire was no prob for you.

I'm guessing that striping and polishing the interior skin you already have would do the trick. I've not done this so I'm speculating. I'm sure that you can find methods and products via the search I mentioned.

Good luck.

Welcome to the Forum. Take a look at some of the "new" Airstreams. You will find some of them are now made with the interior aluminum finish. Those of us with these older Sovereigns will be waiting for pictures of what you decide to do. Remember to take some "before" pictures as well.

Take a look at this thread and specifically post #133...

There is a form on the saw horses for forming up an interior end cap out of aluminum. I know I have seen post by Zepellinium and Aeorwood that cover installing polished ceilings and end caps. You may want to contact them for advice.
