Introduction - first post

Yes - my first post. I've been reading the forums for several weeks now, but haven't posted until now. My wife and I wish to 'Stream one day (hopefully soon) with our (coming) first child and our sheltie, Roscoe. Chances are, we would be among the younger Airstreamers out there, at 31 and 27 respectively. We're looking forward to continuing to read the forums, and soon own an Airstream.

So, what are you looking for? And what do you plan to tow it with? I'm noticing more and more Airstreamers in VA and NC. Hope to see you down the road soon.

Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

My first post also. I have been reading the threads for several months and have learned so much, yet have sooooo much more to learn. I just brought an airstream, 25 ft. The plan is to learn the "ropes" locally these couple of years before retirement.

In the search I have spoken with so many considerate people who went out of their way to be helpful. Can't tell you how appreciative I am. I still need a vehicle to tow the AS. Dry wt. 4600. What do you think?

So glad to know that their are airstreamers in Virginia. I see so few. Is there a local group that gathers?

Thanks for sharing. Karen

We have looked at new AS's in the 25' range (go figure). I have an '05 GMC pickup, but would likely 'upgrade' to a diesel pickup. We are still early on in this decision making process, but I believe that we will take that step in the next year or so...
I grew up with my folks taking us camping in our travel trailer (SOB) and I remember my dad always commenting on seeing Airstreams. Now, old enough to decide for myself, I've decide I'd like to pursue owning an Airstream and take my family about in it...

Welcome! Ix-nay on the diesel. I'm bought mine when it was cheaper than unleaded. of course it's $.70 more per gallon now- oof! Tow with what you have. It should do the trick.

My wife and I bought our AS in 2005. We were 38 and 36 at the time. We love it. Just jump in. You can really get some good deals on gently used models.

Like you, I am 31, but my wife is much much older.

Oh, I am so hosed. My next posting may find me single. I was 31 - once.

Our kids are older now, but we have been camping forever in some form or fashion. Whether you choose Airstream or some other form of camping doesn't really matter - just enjoy.

However, you can do this easy or you can do this hard. Buy a used Airstream today and start the love. You will not regret.

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

You would, in fact, be on the younger end of our motly crew. We have a son in Tampa who has a 19' Bambi, and he is 37.
