Hi, my name is Bell and I just bought--sight unseen--a '68 Tradewind that will be delivered next week. I plan to install a hardwood floor and keep the layout simple so I can build a low-budget recording studio in it AND live in it.
But first, I have to get it here. my question is, are the rear bumpers aluminum too? cuz the running lights don't work (yet!) and I need something to get it towed here. Thanks.
Welcome to the forums & congratulations on your new trailer!
Ou 1964 bumper is steel, not aluminum so a magnetic light tree would work. I would probably have some wire or duct tape handy just in case yours have been changed out or ???
Good luck with your restoration & post some pics when you get a chance!
Shari

1968 Trade Wind! Good choice. As Shari said, the bumper is steel. On mine, the previous owner replaced the cover of the rear bumper storage compartment with a slab of aluminim diamond plate (ugly), so I don't know what the original cover was made of. If the original cover was aluminum, the duct tape solution should work.
Welcome to the '68 Trade Wind club. As you will soon apreciate, it is the finest model and vintage AS ever made (just try an not let everyone else feel to bad). I cant wait to see pics of your new baby
