I'm back. I might have a screw loose.

I haven't been in the forums for years. My wife and me had a 2015 25' flying cloud and unfortunately sold it after a year or so. Bad for us but good for (Joe) and his wife who bought it. Since then we had a 20' E-pro, also sold it. In 2020 we bought a 29' Lance 2465.....sold it. Now get this, we are thinking of ordering a 2023 Flying Cloud 23FB Twin. I only have an F-150 now, hence the 23 footer size. Am I nuts? Yes I am. Any others here have a 23 footer? Boy have the prices gone up!

Welcome back and its great they offer the 23 in a Twin now. We had a 23CB in the past. Loved the twin axles. Hated the corner bed

I have a 23FB Queen, a very nice trailer and is easy to pull. I would have gotten the FB Twin had it been available at the time. You made a good choice.

Hello Juke Box,

Glad to hear from you again after so many years. I wondered what happened to you! Since you sold your 2015 I sold my 2009 and replaced it with a 2018 27' GT.

Are you crazy? Probably not anymore than the rest of us. I know a lot of people who like the 23 FBT. And yes, the prices have really gone up since 2015.

Unless you plan to do more trading of RV's I would not get an AS to fit a particular TV. I'd get the AS you really, really want and then a truck to match. It may well be the F-150.

Best regards!

Welcome back; your not any crazier than the rest of us here! Yes, the AS has definitely gone up a "few" bucks in last couple years!

I was reading in this month's copy of Blue Berret, an historical Airstream excerpt of the manufacturing move to Ohio, where Wally said to Andy Charles; "Your in charge. If I ever see another trailer that's more complete in self-containment or costs more than an Airstream, your job is in danger. We want to build the best trailer, the most complete trailer, and the most expensive."

Someone at AS must still be worried about their job, cause prices surely have not come down!

Great read though...

Congrats! We have a 20FB Flying Cloud, pull it w/ our Sierra, great pair. Love the kitchen in the 20FB. (We're not full-timers, but we've become empty-nesters, so it works well for us.)

Enjoy!

Good move! I was going to suggest that, but none of my business, right? I think the 23 Twin is a great layout for small AS, plus more stable with twin axels. You should be pretty happy!

Just saw this post: 2020 Airstream Globetrotter 23 - North Carolina. link below...might save you a few bucks? Maybe worth a call...it's a twin!

I totally agree! We enjoyed our 2015 23’ FC all over the country for 3 years, but very much disliked the queen bed. We would’ve bought a 25’ RBT but had just recently acquired a Jeep GC EcoDiesel that could easily/safely tow the 23’ but not the 25’ (though we saw several folks who did do that).

After a trip to Alaska in 2019 during which we experienced several breakdowns as a direct result of the emissions system reprogramming by Jeep/Fiat Chrysler “diesel-gate” I swapped out the Jeep GC for a F-150 EcoBoost. We immediately traded in our 23 for the 25 FC RBT we really wanted.

We’ve really enjoyed traveling 3+ years and about 30,000 miles in our preferred FC and this rig is an ideal (for us) set up.

Get the closest rig to meet your desires as your personal circumstances allow. Transaction costs (depreciation, sales taxes, time required, commissions, etc. are meaningful costs!

Ok with an Expedition

I have a 2020 23FB that I pull with a 2020 Expedition with the tow package. I barely know she’s back there when I’m towing, whether it be a straight highway or up a hill. You should do fine.

We have our 2018 28' (27'11" exactly) International Serenity with walk around rear queen bed for sale. We purchased brand new, went on five different trips and then my wife has had health issues where we don't travel away from home overnite anymore. We love this trailer, but it could be on the road enjoying life with new owners someday.

Welcome back. A properly equipped F150 will easily pull a 25' AS. You get that all important extra 6" in width when you go to the 25'. We had a 2017 International 23D for 2 years. Moved up to a 2019 FC 25 RBT. No comparison. Extra 6" wider makes for a way better experience. Almost 500 nights so far.

I like my 23. Please don't listen to the legion of truck salesmen on this board who will tell you you need a semi tractor truck to pull it. It will easily be pulled by an F-150. A yittle too big for my Jeep Liberty though.

That said it will not wildly accelerate up mountain grades like a Tesla driven by a craven teenager passing the Dairy Queen. The truck salesmen on the board like driving wildly in mountains. Me not so much.

Do it!
The trailer is so much fun!
We are, right now, all alone (almost) in the most beautiful place.
