Hi there,
We've had a '62 overlander for a few years, have really enjoyed it and have taken it on several trips, but I think we're going to make it our permanent guest room, as its so old and things keep breaking. We did the total cosmetic transformation on the inside, and our friends love spending the night in it.
We backpacked and camped for many years, and couldn't imagine having an RV, but when we found this fabulous old overlander, we had to have it, and we have gotten spoiled for good. This airstream has a Dometic model (50) propane refrigerator in it, and it is so cool looking that we can't bear to replace it. It has a bad thermocoupler, and we've had no luck over the years getting a replacement for it, or anyone who could fix a Dometic so old that there isn't a schematic for it. (likewise for the airstream). Any hints or leads or links will be appreciated!
We're thinking about a new Bambi Quicksilver or one of the aluminum interior safaris next.
