Hurray, we have finally arrived

After a long trip of sitting here trying to figure out how to post an introduction, we finally arrived. We are Mark and Susie from Pennsylvania and have just purchased at an estate auction a 1966 Tradewind. Susie had previously owned a 1991 airstream which was sold before Mark and Susie became a couple. After seeing a different 1966 Tradewind at another auction previously, Mark became hooked. We finally found another one up for auction in Ohio and made the trip, with plenty of tools, air compressor, generator, etc. With all tires flat and sunk (one tire and rim was totally missing) and the trailer was sitting for 15 years, we had it up an running 2 hours after we won the bid. The trip home was easy (5 hours) with no problems. We are thrilled with our purchase. Everything is still original even down to the shower curtain. We have plenty of testing and troubleshooting to do. We hope to make some friends and maybe receive some very helpful advice on this site. Thanks for having us. Mark and Susie

Congrats on your new find, and welcome to the forum. 15 years is an awful long time for an Airstre to sit! They love to be on the road! I'm sure you'll find plenty of help when you need it.

PS. I still have my original shower curtain too!

Add me to the club!

Perhaps we ought to drop Tim Champ a note for Airstream's ad campaign, "Buy an Airstream... The shower curtain will outlive you..."

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your purchase. We too had purchased an Airstream which sat in a field for many years. There are many mysteries you will have to solve but the forum is a great place to drop your clues for help.
