Question Howdy ya'll!( with sugary voice she says)

A warm hello to you lovers of the road. I mean very warm like 104 today. I'm new to all this forum stuff even though I've been surfing for years. I'm going to redo our 81 Excella with a 50's theme. It hasn't had any road time in about 4 yrs. I don't want to be impolite so give me time to figure out how to navigate and I would appreciate any help in knowing which place to go to for fixing, info etc.
Thanks and happy trails to you!

Howdy, and welcome to the forum!

This is the best place to find answers to questions! At the top of the forum you will see a blue toolbar. Find the word "search" and if you click on it a little search box will appear. Key in a word or phrase like "sink repair" or "toilet repair" and you will be referred to threads that have that subject. Sometimes you will have to read through a lot of stuff, but usually you will find an answer. If not, post a question! It will get answered!

If you are interested in being referred to a place of business that will repair your trailer, I suggest you make a list of the things you want repaired. Read the posts about the repairs/items and it will help you get a real feel for what might be needed and pitfalls to watch out for! Then ask folks in the forum where they may have gone in your area... Repairs can be costly! Many of the folks here do their own repairs~ but not all. Lots of backyard mechanics on this forum!

I would also suggest looking at the Airstream Rally link on the blue toolbar. Go to a local rally and see other folks with Airstreams and what kind of repairs they have faced... not to mention what they have done and how they may have decorated their 'stream! The rallys are usually great, the people are wonderful, you can have a good time and make new friends!

Again, welcome!

Welcome to the forums. The forum can be as addictive as your Airstream so be careful. If you can not find an answer thorough he search feature do not be afraid to ask the question. There are always new answers and new methods being tried and used which update the old threads all the time. Plus many new members come up with ideas we old timers never thought about so please share what you are doing.
Good luck with your project.

Hi ya-ya,
Welcome to the forums! The previous posters have given you good advice on the searching...you WILL read for hours. I have an 80 Excella in a pretty advanced state of disassembly as well as 75, so I can answer most questions of what is behind/underneath/inside of what.
Good Luck and remember we LOVE pictures of other people's projects so post away!

Aaron
