Howdy from Washington State!

Hi All!

I'm so glad I came across this forum! My wife and I are new to the whole RV concept and neither of us have any expertise with towing, hitches, etc., so the information shared here has been wonderful at helping us evaluate our potential options. Even after what seems like tons of reading here and on the airstream site, I can see I have a lot to learn when it comes to figuring out some of the basics on weights and TT/TV configurations and what my current TV is and isn't capable of.

We have only been looking at RVs for a little while, but quickly settled on Airstream as our preferred choice. It also doesn't hurt that my uncle-in-law is an Airstream sales rep. and has given us some pros/cons of Airstream vs. other makes. Now that we've settled on a brand, it's still a matter of figuring out what model will work best for us and our budget.

I stumbled across the Air Forums and see that they are invaluable resource for both current and prospective Airstreamers! I look forward to learning and, at some point, contributing to the great discussions that occur here.

Thanks in advance to all for helping a novice get a better grasp on being an Airstreamer!

Cheers,
John

Welcome John! Good luck as you figure out the right model for you. It's a tough decision, but just take your time and the right one will come along.

Welcome to the forum, welcome to Air Stream travel trailers. Good to have you join, better to have you contribute. Be sure to share your experiences, problems and questions. Gives us all something to do when we're not trying to set up or break camp.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. You've found the right place for everything Airstream and a lot of good information.

Just remember that we were all newbies at one time and have learned little by little. There is a learning curve to this Airstreaming thing, but it's not launching rockets.

Brian

Will do, Rich! I appreciate the warm welcome, reminder that no one comes into this knowing everything right off the bat, and encouragement to post. Like most newbies, I've got TONS of questions...but I'm trying to continue reading through earlier threads to make sure my questions are addressed elsewhere first.

Thanks again!
John

Thanks for the welcome and encouragement, Brian. I hope all is well in N. FL. I went to UWF in Pensacola for my undergraduate degree and love the area. My folks still live in Clearwater. Hopefully someday soon I'll find the right AS and will be able to make a x-country trek with her back to the Sunshine State.

Happy Trails!

Thanks, Wayne&Sam, it's just a matter of time and doing some research on what I can/can't pull with my F-150.

Best,
John

Welcome from a fellow Washingtonian! What lighthouse is that in your avatar? It looks familiar. My avatar is taken from Port Townsend (looking towards Fort Worden), in January. Good luck on your search, we totally enjoy our AS.

Thanks, 10Smiles! So nice to hear from fellow Washingtonians! The lighthouse is actually the one at Ft. Worden. We were tent camping on the beach there this past week and had a wonderful time. We're definitely looking to camp there again, hopefully next time in a new AS!

We love Port Townsend for the beach, the art, and just the town. The campground in town at Point Hudson is great (although the cost might be a bit high in the summer). We go there every year on our anniversary (Jan/Feb).

You live very near the Land Yacht Harbor. Chances are good there are some Airstreams for sale there.
