As of yesterday my wife and I are the proud new owners of a 2012 30' Classic Limited. Meet Annie:
She is our 40th wedding anniversary present to each other (hence her name). It isn't the best pic, but she is still sitting, winterized, in a storage facility in Spokane, Washington. My wife found her while visiting her mother. Seems to be in great shape. Wife says it looks like it just came off the dealer's lot.
Our first major trip will require picking her up, getting her ready to roll and spending the next few weeks taking our time hauling her the 2500+ miles back to Louisiana. LOTS of places to visit between there and here.
We are somewhere beyond excited, and looking forward to many new adventures. This is our first Airstream, and I've spent many hours reviewing threads is in this forum. It is wonderful to have a resource like this to help us get off on the right foot with Airstream ownership. We aren't new to trailering, but, reading many threads has pointed out things that we are probably going to have to address to make sure that our travels are as carefree as possible. (The hitch that came with her is a 12000 lb Equal-I-Zer - too big for our F250? She still has the original GYMs - they
look great, but... etc.) Working through those issues without going broke is part of the fun. We'd love to have any advice that any of you want to share specific to making sure we don't miss something important before we hit the road.
Thanks to all of you for this treasure trove of information. I'm looking forward to participating and giving back what I can.
