Howdy from Dallas!
Hi Everyone: We're Jon and Cliff Garinn, and we're planning to pick up our 2014 22FB Sport next week. We can hardly wait. It's a dream come true! We've been in an entry-level Sportsmen Classic 14RB, so we're eager to upgrade to an Airstream. Our first trip is to Yosemite in mid-May. We're sure glad to climb aboard the Airstream Forums!

We're towing with a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Great tow vehicle!

Our new Airstream was a little larger than we anticipated, so we moved to plan B for storing the rig. It's at a great storage facility about miles from our home. Easy access enables us to visit the Airstream and make preparations almost as if it was on our own driveway.

What was plan A?
I store mine in an enclosed storage facility that also has my 13ft Scamp in it sideways...works out great! No better way to protect trailers than indoors.
How does the FJ tow that 22ft? What sort of weight distribution do you use?

Welcome to the AS family! We just traded our 2008 FJ Cruiser last year. What a great vehicle! Not a single problem, just oil changes and tire rotations. We actually bought a new 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 diesel since we were going from a popup to a 2011 Flying Cloud FB27. I bet you'll have no problem towing the 22 Sport with it. I too would think a weight distribution hitch would be the way to go. I still use mine with the diesel. Safe travels and good luck from Arkansas!

Welcome from another Dallas newbie! We just picked up our 25 FC RB a couple of weeks ago! We are excited to do our shake down cruise this weekend.

Hi Guys: Thanks for the warm welcome. We returned Monday from a 10-day sojourn to Yosemite, and having encountered about everything we can imagine, we now consider ourselves official Airstreamers. Check out our blog posts at www.garinnsonthego.net

If you're looking to get right back out there, we'd love to have you join us in Arkansas next weekend for our annual Friends of Dorothy Rally. It's a blast!

Hi Lynn: Thanks for the invite, but Jon will be headed to Chicago this weekend to report on the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. BTW, does anyone else find this air forum website difficult to use? We're so frustrated with it that we're ready to ditch it and just stick with Facebook. And believe us, we're not Luddites!

Enjoy your weekend in Chicago! We do the rally every year so keep an eye out for 2015.
Re: forums
They're a bit clunky, but if you want to stay where the action is, you'll need to stay here!
