(I am having trouble posting a new thread - I get an error message, can not connect with server - but I can post a quick reply to a previous post. What is the problem?) Below is part of my first post that I lost several times trying to post:
I am a new member and contemplating buying my first RV and AS. I have had symptoms of "Aluminum fever" since January and now I have an addiction to reading this forum daily because of all of the information that should help me make the right decision when purchasing a trailer and tow vehicle. I am now leaning toward the 2006 23’ Safari SE with L-Lounge and the 2006 Toyota Tundra to tow it.
I look forward to participating in this forum (If I can get my messages to post).

Airstreaming is a bad bug to get
You shouldn't have problems towing a 23 with your Toyo.
Happy Trails.....

Thanks, all for the warm welcome!
I am recently retired (age 59) and now research and portray three of San Diego’s historical characters. I had fun choosing my user name, since Silver Gate in the 19th century referred to the entrance to the San Diego harbor (emulating San Francisco’s Golden Gate).
San Diego is also where William Hawley Bowlus, as shop foreman at Ryan Airlines, supervised the construction of Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis in 1927. Bowlus is central to the early development of the metal-skinned, fuselage-bodied trailers that first appeared in the 1930’s.
The 23’ Safari SE LS with L-Lounge seems perfect for me but must wait until I purchase the Toyota Tundra. I agree with the replies to my thread "2006 vs. 2007 Toyota Tundra" in the Tow Vehicle forum that point out that it would be wise to wait for the stronger 2007 Tundra to come out. It promises to be a superior towing vehicle. And being retired, I’d like to get it right the first time around. So I thank all for maintaining such a wonderful forum!

Hi Silvergate: Sherry and I (Robert) were just down your way for Easter week at San Elijo State Park. Last week read about a gentleman in the same search mode as you and he too was from San Diego. Anyway, invited he and his wife down to check out our 2006 Safari and truck, chat, have some wine and watch the sunset. Had I seen your post last week we could have had you join us.
We travel down your way to camp quite a bit, so maybe will see you sometime.
