Greetings All,

Joining from Pensacola Fl. We are planning to travel back and forth to San Diego 2x per year for the next several years with our airstream, kids and critters to visit the rest of our family and enjoy the country. The site has already provided us with excellent information on our upcoming truck purchase, keeping us from a large mistake - thank you! Our only previous experience is towing a small 1950-something Aristocrat.

Great to see another Northwest Florida Airstreamer on the forum. It appears you already know what a nice group of folks reside here, and the wealth of information available. You just missed a great local rally (Can Opener '08 in Santa Rosa Beach) during the first week of January......maybe next year.

Welcome to the Airforums! It's a great place!

Just in case you need a place to land in San Diego...if your relatives can't accommodate you...check out the San Diego County Park System...nice parks, close to everything and you can make reservations... We have stayed at Lake Jennings, Dos Picos and Wm Heise....and there are others...see our travel log (link below) re our San Diego trip...

And of course when you're passing through AZ on your way to SD, there are several AZ State Parks and along I-10 (or not far from it) from NM to the I-8 connection for overnighting or longer on your travels...

This is a great place to learn all about airstreams, camping, meeting friends... may I suggest on your trip across the country you check out the rally thread (top blue toolbar link) and see if you can join in a few as you travel. You will meet great folks, learn about airstreams, and find great places to camp!

There are many different threads about camping places... or if you are on the road and can't find one... post a question of where can I stay here in the backwater of ??? You will be surprised how quickly someone will chirp in and give you some suggestions!
