Wink Hey ya'll from Texas!

We have been stalking the forum for a few weeks. I just found the introduction thread....oops! We bought a brand new 25FT Flying Cloud RB twin and brought it home last week. The shake down cruise is this weekend. We have been looking at the forum, shopping, looking again, shopping again, repeat, repeat, repeat! We saw on the forum she needed a name so her name is Lucille. The forum has been an extremely valuable resource to help in our decision about which model and floor plan on down to what we should pack onboard.

We are experienced campers, but not in a trailer, and not in many years, so we feel like we are starting from scratch. The main incentive for getting Lucille came about as we tried to plan a month long trip to Canada and the western US via hotel rooms that are pet friendly. Yes, we are embarking on this adventure with our two labrador retrievers. It was funny how neither the hubs or I knew that we each have always loved Airstreams from when we were kids. We are so very excited to realize this dream together and giddy with excitement!

Once we decided to purchase Lucille we are much happier with our trip planning. The plans are not complete and not all reservations are made so we would really appreciate any advice anyone can offer in that regard.

Yes, we might be crazy.....

Hi right back to you, and welcome to the forum, and Airstreaming.

As far as trip planning is concerned, we like to sort of wing it. After deciding were we are going, and what route to take, sort of make reservations for RV parks as we go. Except for destination vacation spots, which we always have planned, it seems to work well for us.

Get yourself a Woodall or Good Sam book, and a cell phone, and you will be set.

If you're looking to meet some folks, hook up and come down to San Marcos this weekend. There's a Central Texas Rally going on. Here's the forum link: http://www.airforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118085

I wish we could! We had already invited friends who are very experienced RVers (not Airstream) to go with us so they could help us. We saw the rally right AFTER we confirmed our plans with our friends. They are very excited that we have finally crossed over into RVing so I can't disappoint them. (

Howdy, and welcome. We are fairly new to Airstreaming, and we both love it. The forum was extremely helpful in getting us started. Be prepared to spend money on every RV gadget you see.
