Here we go!!!!!!!!

Called Colonial today. Put a down payment on a 27' classic limited FB. Picking up on Thurs. The wife & I are nervous/scared/exited. Will spend the summer here in Jersey taking small "learning trips". Then, off to sugarloaf key in FLA. for two weeks. Gotta plan, baby, gotta plan :-). I'll be checking in, asking alot of questions. Can't wait to be a streamer!

Nice!

And don't sweat the "planning" part of it. When the wife and I got our 28' CCD last year, not only had we never stepped foot in an RV before, we foolishly didn't do a single "test trip." We loaded up, headed out and spent 3 months "full-timing" in our trailer. We learned by doing and had fun doing it.

So, plan what you can, but don't let planning become your job. Enjoy the ride.

Congratulations!! Drink plenty of water and take deep breaths when you pull off the dealers lot.

Don't do too much planning and don't get too much stuff to put inside! Take it slow and enjoy the ride.

And welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!

Monkeypants,
Congratulations on your new Airstream. Have fun with it. It would probably be a pretty close trip for you to visit Jersey Shore Airstream Haven. It would be a little longer trip to Penn Wood Airstream Park near Clarion, PA.

welcome to the forum, you'll be sure to have all your questions answered, and good support for what you are doing. We are a few days away from taking off full timing in our 27' overlander (1974). The past few weeks have been chock a block full of plans as we sold the house, had to get my two sons settled in thier own apartments etc.

I for one can't wait for the proposed ban on plans. We don't even know if we are going to turn right or left out of the driveway yet... that's my kind of planning!

We too had never been in an RV, had a dream about owning an airstream that came true in the fall... but never imagined it'd lead to full timing. We've only driven it once so far, and so will like Stephen above, just hop in and go. So i encourage you to just do it.

congratulations on a great choice.have bought my trailers from colonial and you are dealing with a very knowledeable group.i started towing trailers in the mid 80s and still call from time to time to get questions answered from the colonial team.make notes as you go through the demo on delivery and ask plenty of questions.on my last trailer patrick recommended the hensley which i decided to go with.best decision i made in a long time, and since these guys know airstreams and how they perform patricks sdvise was the right decision.had a 28 safari before this current trailer that i towed with a dual cam.the ease of towing with the hensley adds alot to the towing pleasure.good luck with the new trailer.

Colonial usually gives new owners a couple of free nights at Shorehaven. The park opens up in a week or two and is a real short trip from Smithville - at exit 17 (Sea Isle City exit) on the GSP. Hope to see you there this summer.

Congratulations! I am sure that you will love the 27' FB floorplan. And, a Classic on top of that! We bought our AS from Colonial, and Lauren did our interior walk thru. Fortunately, she spent time on the radio, stereo speaker system, and though there is lots to learn, her voice still is in the back of my head on how to turn the speakers off and on for the tv through the raidio and the front of the AS. We were given, I think, three nights in the New Jersey AS Park. We did appreciate the nights and rest before returning to Florida.

Drink plenty of water so you can adequately test the bathroom?

Try the state florida state parks in the keys. Water and electricity only but Long Key, Curry Hammock and Bahia Honda are situated directly on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
Bluewater RV is an ownership park as I understand it.
