Question help - 64 globetrotter

Hi to all,

Bob Mccleary, here. 3 days into retirement, just bought my first Airstream.
Life is good!

I know nothing of trailers...let alone Airstreams,so,would appreciate being
contacted by anyone with knowlege about 19 foot Globetrotters. Previous
owner's are no help, as they don't have a clue what year-model they were
selling. [I am still trying to correct the title and registration.]

I would call the condition of the trailer "fair". Don't know whether to restore
the thing or just "remodel" [it] to suit my needs. I am excited just seeing it
parked in my drive.........

Safe Travel to all,
Bob

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum! We have a lot of globetrotter owners here. Maybeyou could start out by telling us about the current condition of your trailer, and what you'd like to do with it eventually. Pictures are always appreciated, just because we love to look at other people's trailers!

Welcome to the forums. I believe that there are some here who would be able to determine what exactly you have if you posted the VIN of your trailer.

Visit the VAC Open House in Creede, Sunday 8-13-06

Hi Bob:

Welcome to the AS Forums! Years ago I spent many enjoyable hours forraging the junkyards on the eastern side of Gunnison for old Dodge truck parts. I imagine most of those "yards of the past" are gone today, .

Anyway, you should visit many of your fellow Coloradoans and other vintage Airstream owners at our 6th Annual Rocky Mt. Vintage Airstream Club Rally in Creede, CO. from August 11-15th. We just filled up the last reservation, so no more spaces are available. But there will be a few 1964 Globe Trotters in attendance, as well as many other vintage trailers to look at and learn from. Many of us have traveled the road you are just starting out on and will be glad to offer help and advice.

VAC Rally information can be found here:

http://www.rmvac.org/2006%20website/info.html

We will hold our Open House on Sunday, August 13th, so plan on spending the day with us viewing the trailers and asking questions. The slackard webhopper has not yet revised the web site to show Sunday 8/13 as the correct Open House Day, which it is, but check back at the web site in a week or so, which should be revised by then.

Also look at the web site for our Denver Unit of the WBCCI and check out our rally and events schedules:

http://www.wbcci-denco.org/

You can also "Search" for topics here on the Forums using the same named button near the top right hand side of the page. Welcome aboard, and we look forward to meeting you "down the road"....

WooHoo! We'd love to get to know another '64 GT, especially one living in CO...welcome aboard! Hope you come out to the Creede Rally as Fred suggested, there are going to be at least 3 in attendance and several a year or two apart...lots of ideas!

Life is good, and you have quickly arrived at the right place! This is a great forum and the people are so helpful, friendly, and supportive! Retirement is great ~ just finished 3 years here, but my husband and I are seriously infected with aluminitis... I think it becomes worse after retirement. Welcome, laugh often, live well, and go camping!
